Steve Bloom

Entrepreneur, Steve Bloom, started several business ventures in mortgage banking, real estate development and management, importing, sign manufacturing and business consulting. He graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in business and community analysis. He also completed graduate studies at Cleveland State University in business and economics. Steve has invested in several start-ups that provided opportunities in technology transfer, music video and merchant banking. Mr. Bloom has also been retained by owners to assist in “turning around” a factoring company and distressed real estate properties. He is currently the managing general partner for an apartment complex in Newark, N.J. and is a lecturer at Emory University’s Center for Life Long Learning. Steve is a frequent speaker for Chambers of Commerce, SCORE and the SBA and currently speaks to numerous community groups on: “Crisis or Opportunity, Are You Ready.”

Julie Brander has been a SCORE volunteer since 1997. She has 20 years of experience in business, starting a manufacturing, wholesale and retail jewelry company. After selling her business in 1996 she became a dedicated advocate for small business with vast experience and knowledge in helping entrepreneurs start and expand their business. As the chapter chair of SCORE New Haven, she facilitates and organizes the small business workshops, seminars and conferences. She has her MBA and teaches business basics to entrepreneurs on a college level. She founded a non-profit organization THIS CLOSE for Cancer Research with expertise in fund raising.
