If you are like many small business owners, you probably use technology tools in your personal life without giving it a second thought. You may shop online, maintain a Facebook account, Skype with friends, surf the Internet for information, and communicate via email. And, again, if you are like many small business owners, you may feel that technology would help your small business grow, but you may not be quite sure which type of technology tool would be most useful to tackle your individual business challenge.
The new e-Business Now program launched on March 1, 2011 was specifically designed to help small business owners identify the technology tools that will best help them address their particular small business issues.
SCORE partnered with the FCC, SBA, and the following industry giants: ATT, Best Buy, Cisco Systems, Constant Contact, Google, HP, Intuit, Microsoft, Skype, and Time Warner Cable Business Class to create e-Business Now. The program consists of a series of five free “Tech Made Simple” workshops and 25 How-To guides, offered through local SCORE chapters or online at www.ebusinessnow.org, in English and Spanish. The e-Business Now website also features a workshop finder to help you determine which workshops are best suited for you and a SCORE technology mentor finder so that you can connect one-on-one with a technology expert.
The topics of the workshops are based on what small business owners across the country identified as their most pressing small business issues. They include using technology to “boost your business,” “create a technology plan,” “build the perfect website,” “jumpstart your sales” and “manage your cash flow.”
e-Business Now will also sponsor a series of regional events to highlight the workshops and host round table discussions facilitated by local SCORE technology mentors and the industry and government partners. The first event will take place in Anaheim, CA on April 12, 2011. Registration for the event can be found on www.ebusinessnow.org.
Whether you already run your own small business and need help jumpstarting your sales or managing your cash flow, or whether you are in the planning stages of starting your own small business and need guidance to create the perfect website or a technology roadmap, let e-Business Now help you discover the right tech tools to leverage the power of technology for your small business.
