Constant Contact recently released a new survey which finds that social media marketing has moved to the top of the small business owners marketing tool kit. The findings suggest that social media marketing is being used by small businesses along with other more “traditional” marketing methods.

According to the survey, among the various social media tools used by small businesses, Facebook seems to be the tool of choice. Other social media tools used, such as Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube or Vimeo, seemed to give a varying degree of success by small businesses.

The survey also reports that small business still rely a great deal on “traditional” marketing methods such as email, website, event marketing, and advertising to drive their business.

Thanks for sharing interesting and current survey results. I wouldn’t have expected the social media numbers, especially the social media satisfaction numbers, to be so high. Most of my clients don’t have social media figured out. It’s also surprising that an email marketing outfit like ConstantContact is asking people about social media. I guess they’re worried.
