Hollywood and the media might lead you to believe that most entrepreneurs are 20-something college dropouts who found fast-growing tech startups. While that certainly can be true (think poster children: Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg are both college dropouts), in fact, quite the opposite is true.
According to a Washington Post article that debunks the most common myths about entrepreneurs, a study reveals the following:

I’ve seen both succeed and fail. From my experience, success or failure can be attributed to a number of factors but planning plays a critical role. I wasn’t surprised by the results of this study featured in the Washington Post. With some of these common myths debunked, perhaps you may be inspired to pursue your own entrepreneurial dreams- whether or not you’re a 20-something, college dropout techie.
